DTF PRINTING EDMONTON
Direct-to-film printing delivers exceptional quality and full colour reproduction on virtually any fabric. But print quality doesn't matter if the item doesn't aid in getting someone to join you, choose you or buy from you.
DTF (direct-to-film) printing transfers full-colour designs directly onto fabric using a film-transfer process. It produces vibrant, detailed prints on virtually any garment type and colour, including dark fabrics and synthetic blends that traditional screen printing struggles with.
It's faster than screen printing for small runs, more versatile than embroidery for complex designs, and produces a softer, more detailed result than traditional heat transfer vinyl.
Complex multi-colour designs with no colour separation costs. Suitable for small runs and one-offs.
Full opacity on dark garments. No white underbase required on light fabrics.
Thinner than screen printing ink, softer than traditional heat transfer vinyl.
Ideal for tight timelines. No screens to make, no setup fees for colour changes.
We handle DTF printing in Edmonton and across Alberta through Avatar Brand Management. But before any file goes to production, we ask the question most printers skip.
Every piece of branded apparel, every material choice, writes a script in people's heads about who you are and whether they want to join you, buy from you, or rave about you.
The question isn't what printing method to use.
The question is what commitment you're building and how this garment serves that commitment.
A brilliantly printed shirt deployed without a purpose is a waste. The same shirt deployed as part of a Purpose-Ecosystem™ is a commitment tool.
Most DTF printers stop at apparel. We don't.
We are pushing the limits of DTF technology to produce low-minimum custom packaging for our unique Dimensional Advertising™ pieces — the physical commitment tools we design for high-stakes recruitment, major donor cultivation, and complex B2B partnership development.
When the piece inside the package is designed to answer every question a person asks before making a life-changing decision, the packaging itself needs to signal that something meaningful is inside. DTF enables us to produce that packaging in small runs with full colour at a cost that makes strategic deployment viable.
If you are thinking beyond apparel — custom boxes, mailers, or presentation packaging for a specific engagement — that conversation starts the same way every materials conversation starts: with what you want the recipient to do after they open it.
DTF works best when you need full-colour complexity, small runs, fast turnaround, or versatility across garment types. It's the right technical choice for many situations.
But the technical choice is the last decision, not the first. The first decisions are:
What do you want people to do after they receive this item?
Remember you?
Contact you?
Join you?
Wear it with pride and spark conversations?
Each answer leads to a different design brief.
Who specifically is this for? A single design for a mixed audience is almost always the wrong choice. Different segments of your audience have different relationships with your brand, and different shirts serve those relationships differently.
Where does this item sit in your engagement system? Is it part of a larger campaign? A recruitment effort? A community-building program? Or a standalone gesture that will live in a closet?
These questions take 30 minutes to answer. They replace the guesswork that produces items nobody wanted from budgets that deserved better.
I have a project ready and want to talk through production and strategy.
I'm open to a conversation about how to make the apparel work harder than just looking good
Our marketing spend isn't linked to outcomes, and the shirts are just one symptom.
I suspect the problem is systemic, not just a production decision.
